An IT strategy must address not only the manner in which IT supports the business but also the organisation and governance that will ensure the continued successful delivery of IT in support of the business. Like the business strategy the IST Strategy is a living entity that must be reviewed and updated, adjusting for and accepting of the reality of changing business needs, pressures and objectives - while keeping an eye to the future. The IST Strategy must also clearly articulate and justify the manner in which IT capabilities will be sourced.
